Overview
Elementary and Middle School campers who choose Outdoor Adventures will have a unique opportunity to explore the local beaches and mountains while participating in hands-on lessons that focus on environmental studies and outdoor education. Each three-week session will include beach excursions, local hikes, field trips for ecology lessons, and one overnight camping trip. Day and resident campers will learn wilderness first-aid, how to read a compass and a map, how to build campfires, tie knots, and plan outdoor trips.
There will be two sessions for this program:
- Session One: June 24 to July 12. This session is open only to campers in grades 6-8.
- Session Two: July 15 to August 2. This session is open only to campers in grades 3-5.
Outdoor activities will include mountain biking, hiking, swimming and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP). Close teacher guidance and support allows campers to develop their leadership skills, practice teamwork, expand their subject knowledge and spend their summer days exploring the natural world around them. Campers will participate in afternoon activities on campus when they are not hiking or working in the field.
In addition to Outdoor Adventures, OVS Summer Camp offers a variety of specialty camps, including Equestrian, Robotics, and Fine Arts.
