Q: What plans do you have in place to prevent the spread of illness during camp?
A: The camp is taking numerous steps to protect campers and staff members during the current pandemic. This begins with restricting our enrollment to local day students from Ventura County, which has far fewer cases of COVID-19 compared to other regions. We are also following the state, federal and local guidelines for social distancing, encouraging frequent hand washing, limiting class sizes and camp activities to those that adhere to social distancing protocols, frequently cleaning and sanitizing classrooms, outdoor group areas, restrooms and campus grounds.
Q: Are staff and campers required to wear face masks at summer camp?
A: Staff are required to wear face masks when not able to socially distance. Campers are encourages to wear face masks as feasible when not able to socially distance by six feet.
Q: Is the pool open for camp?
A: Yes! The aquatics program is open. Campers will swim with their cohort groups and social distancing will be required. Swim time will be recreational and we will not offer swim lessons.
Q: Is there a camp calendar with special camp days?
A: You betcha! Even while social distancing, we still plan to enjoy fun spirit days like Pajama Day, Crazy Hair Day, and more. Check out the Summer Camp Calendar and the Junior Camp Calendar for details.
Q: Do you offer daily bus service for day campers?
A: Yes, OVS provides twice daily bus service from west Ventura to Ojai for summer campers. The day bus pass is $100 per week. The bus picks up at Marina Park at 7:40 a.m. and drops off at 5:10 p.m. The address is 1400 Greenock Lane.
Q: What activities are offered in summer camp?
A: Campers choose from a wide range of morning programs followed by afternoon activities. Activities typically offered in summer camp are listed below:

Q: Do you offer any programs for younger children?
A: Yes! Our Junior Camp offers a balance of creative, enriching and educational experiences for young children ages 3-5. Campers learn to swim under the supervision of certified instructors, and enjoy a full day of indoor and outdoor exploration. Our flexible schedule allows campers to enroll for the full six weeks, or to select and combine various two-week sessions.

A: Ojai Valley School is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS), the Western Association of Independent Camps (WAIC), and the American Camp Association (ACA).
