Overview
OVS Junior Camp offers a balance of enriching learning and play experiences for young children, ages 3-5, who are entering Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten in the fall. Qualified caring teachers design both small group and child-directed activities, which provide an opportunity for success in language and literacy development, as well as pre-math knowledge. Our youngest campers begin the morning in their own classrooms and outdoor spaces, and their day is designed to encourage self-discovery, a love of learning and a sense of wonder for world around them. Keeping with the mission of Ojai Valley School, and the theme of our summer camp, Junior Campers will learn, explore, play and adventure outdoors as much as possible. Indoor and outdoor activities are designed to peak their curiosity, build their confidence, and enhance skills needed for a solid foundation for future learning.
Junior Campers enjoy a morning snack and nutritious lunch, followed by a short rest period. Afternoon activities include music, dance, arts and crafts, cooking, games, sports and outdoor science explorations. Campers also participate in swim time at the camp pool, under the supervision of our certified lifeguards.
Junior Camp begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 4:30 p.m. Our flexible schedule allows campers to enroll for the full six weeks, or one of the three-week sessions.
