Afternoon Activities

After morning classes and specialty programs, all OVS Summer campers participate in a wide variety of afternoon activities. Campers in grades 1-5 rotate through three activity periods with their camp counselor, building group spirit, trying new things and making friends. Weekly schedules vary as counselors connect with their campers and design the fun just for them. The last period of the day is Camper Choice, which is chosen daily and allows campers to head off to their favorite activity. Middle school campers meet with their group and camp counselors at the start of the afternoon and have a choice of three activities each day.

All activities are designed to be fun and engaging, so campers feel comfortable picking a favorite, or trying something new and challenging. Middle schoolers may choose an activity with a friend, follow a favorite camp counselor, or venture off to something brand new. Making choices fosters independence and confidence in our middle school campers. Camp challenges, theme days, special events and camp contests add to the afternoon fun and give campers many opportunities to experience laughter, joy and silliness!

Activity choices include:

Grades 1-3 have swim lessons during afternoon group time, while older campers participate in water games, contests, and free swim while at the pool. A team of certified lifeguards and swim instructors keep the pool safe and fun. All campers take a swim test on Opening Day and are monitored by pool staff according to their swim level.
