Grades 2-8
As part of the regular school year program, The Ojai Valley School’s Learning Center provides academic support and instruction for students whose academic needs fall outside of the scope of traditional classroom instruction. The Learning Center programs focus on providing students with the skills and tools they need to be successful in their core academic classes.
This year, the OVS Learning Center is piloting a Summer Boost program to offer campers grades 2-8 the opportunity to receive small group instruction designed to augment and maintain their academic progress. Campers who choose Summer Boost as their morning option, will receive instruction designed to establish foundational skills needed for academic success, close gaps in academic abilities and prepare campers for a successful new school year.
The Summer Boost program will include instruction in:
- Language Arts/Reading
- Math
- Social Skills
Campers will be evaluated prior to camp and placed in age and skill level groups based on their need. Summer Boost teachers will be in contact with parents before each session to gather academic history and discuss strategies.
The OVS Summer Boost program is a win for both parents and campers! Parents appreciate the opportunity to continue their child’s academic progress and prep for the upcoming school year and campers are excited to enjoy a fun-filled summer full of friends, games, sports, crafts and adventures.
